Hola, soyHi, I'm KaTa 💗

I was born and raised in Colombia, and now I live in Los Angeles, in the United States.

I graduated in Environmental Science and Management in Bogotá, Colombia, but I’ve always had an artist’s heart that has led me to act, sing, produce, direct and, now, to set out on this new adventure: creating Life Isn’t Pink.

For a long time I believed success meant having everything under control: graduating from college at 21, getting a good job, having a house and a car, getting married and having kids. As they’d say in my city: “casa, carro y beca” (a house, a car and a scholarship).

But life had other plans for me.

It took me twice as long to graduate because of personal and financial problems. My family went bankrupt, and I had to take any job outside my field to help out at home and help my family get through that difficult time.

That’s how I reached 26 without having worked in my field, without a car, without a scholarship and without a husband. Things that, in my family, meant success. That’s when I decided to go to the United States as an au pair: out of necessity, out of desperation and, yes, a little bit for the adventure too.

I’m summarizing a lot, because my story could fill many pages. That’s why I’d rather invite you to get to know it through the Life Isn’t Pink Podcast.

But if there’s one thing I want you to know about me, it’s that I don’t have a perfect life or all the answers. I’ve lived moments that made me feel sad, lost and helpless, but I’ve also had joys, opportunities and lessons that have helped me grow.

I’ve learned that life is a roller coaster. Sometimes it fills you with excitement and happiness; other times it makes you dizzy, confuses you and makes you want to get off.

And in the middle of all that, we learn to know ourselves, to make decisions and to find our own way to keep going.

Today I’m here, sharing a part of who I am and what I’ve lived, because I believe our experiences have value, even when things don’t go as planned.

And I want to get to know yours too.

So if you made it this far, welcome to this space! I want us to laugh, cry, learn and be inspired by real stories, no matter where we come from or where we are on our journey.

I’m KaTa, this is Life Isn’t Pink, and here there’s room for your story, for mine and for every story that deserves to be heard. 💗
