¿Por quéWhy Life isn't pink?
Bienvenidos a Life Isn’t Pink, la vida no es rosa.Welcome to Life Isn’t Pink.
He logrado cosas que alguna vez parecían imposibles.
How did this podcast start?
When I was an au pair in Los Angeles, I had the chance to work for a very successful woman who ran her own company. I admired her enormously. When she published her book, I got a copy, and as I read it I realized that some things hadn’t happened exactly the way she told them.
I won’t go into specific details. But there was one situation in particular that I had been there for, and she told it very differently. When I asked her about it, she answered:
“You know, sometimes we need to exaggerate things to sell more books.”
I’m not telling this story to judge anyone, but to invite us to question something.
Throughout my life, ever since I was a child, I had read books by successful, famous people who shared their stories of overcoming and motivation. I admired them, but I also compared myself to them. I thought: “I’ll never be like them. Look at everything they have: their own companies, mansions, they’re in magazines and on TV.”
Until that moment, I had never stopped to think that many of those stories of struggle and overcoming were being told by people who, in one way or another, already had access to opportunities and privileges I didn’t have.
That’s when an enormous need was born in me to hear and get to know the real stories. Yours, mine and those of millions of people who, without help, without inheritances and without big advantages, have managed to move forward.
People who may never appear in a magazine or be interviewed on TV, but who have overcome immense obstacles and built a life they can be proud of.
Because when I look at my own story and compare it with the life I had in the past, or with my parents’ and grandparents’ lives, I realize how far I’ve come. I’ve achieved things that once seemed impossible. And even if my name never appears in a magazine and my story never becomes a bestseller, I know I’ve been successful, blessed and, above all, a warrior.
And that is a success story too.
That’s why I decided to create Life Isn’t Pink.
Because I believe your story, my story and the stories of millions of ordinary people deserve to be told. They deserve to be heard. And they deserve to reach the people who need to hear today that it is possible to move forward, even when life doesn’t give you every advantage.
I want this space to let us talk about real life: the struggles that aren’t always seen, the obstacles we face in silence, and the achievements that, even if they never make the cover of a magazine, are true victories.
Because the motivation that transforms doesn’t only come from someone who has already reached the top; it also comes from listening to someone who is walking a path like yours.
Life Isn’t Pink was born to remind us that we don’t need to be famous, have millions or have privileges to have an extraordinary story.
Sometimes the most powerful stories belong to those who had to start with very little and still found a way to keep going.
And I want this podcast to be the place where those stories find a voice, where we recognize ourselves in others and where we discover that, even if life isn’t always pink, our story can still inspire someone else.
Because our stories matter too. And it’s time to tell them.
¿Qué historias vas a escuchar aquí?
What stories will you hear here?
At Life Isn’t Pink you’ll hear stories that may have started with hard moments, losses, disappointments or situations we never imagined facing, but that, one way or another, led us to grow, to change our perspective or to find a different path.
Because the idea isn’t to stay only with the bad things that happened to us. That’s part of our story too, but it’s not where I want it to end.
I want us to talk about what we did next. How we faced those situations, the decisions we made, what we learned and how those experiences transformed us, even when at the time we couldn’t understand why they were happening to us.
Maybe some of these stories will make us cry. Maybe they’ll remind us of moments in our own lives or make us feel we’re not the only ones who have been through certain things.
But above all, I want you to leave each story with something more than sadness. I want you to finish ready to take on the world, to fight for your dreams, to try again and to remember that even when things don’t turn out as we hoped, we still have the chance to build something different.
And there’s something else that’s just as important to me: I want every story to help us develop more empathy and love for others.
Because we never know what the person in front of us is going through, what battle they’re fighting in silence or how much it has cost them to get where they are. We all carry our own wounds, our grief and our struggles, even when they can’t be seen.
That’s why this space also wants to remind us that we’re not alone, and that instead of judging or comparing ourselves, we can listen to, accompany and support each other.
Because we can’t always choose what happens to us, but we can find new ways to keep going. And sometimes hearing someone else’s story is exactly what we need to believe in our own again.
That’s what I want you to find at Life Isn’t Pink: real stories, lessons, hope and the motivation to keep building your own version of success, no matter where you started.
Do you need a perfect life to inspire someone?
Of course not! Often our hardest experiences are the ones that teach us the most. You don’t need a perfect life, to have reached your goals or to have all the answers to share your story, because sometimes the journey is the story too.
The decisions you made, the times you said yes to something that changed your life, or no to something that could hurt you. All of that deserves to be told too.
So tell me your story. Your voice matters, your experience matters, and what you’ve learned can inspire someone else.
And remember: maybe, for you, simply telling your story is already a victory. And here, we celebrate that with you!
Because you don’t need a perfect life to inspire. You just need to remember that your story matters.
